Airfix 1/24 P-51D Mustang
This is fourth of these that I have built (1 still in stash, lol). I made first kit when I was 11 or 12. I actually painted it white. I thought the instruction book looked white, lol. I gave up on Trumpeter 1/24. I wish I would have waited for main gear in resin. That is one huge drawback to this kit, lack of fit with windshield is another.
It is an enjoyable kit. I used spray can for bare metal. I was told that wings weren’t bare metal. I didn’t add oil paint (Paynes Grey) panel lines on wings. I bought resin tires made by Gerry Rutman. I highly recommend them.
I may make last kit into F-51 in Korean markings.

That is really nice ‘Stang. Always wanted to do a Big Beautiful Doll, but scared of that checkerboard nose.

Yea! I started making that as a kid with the Aifix detailing book. I made such an a**e of it it was abandoned. A real blast from the past! Well done!
