69 years of age, Modeling since birth. Do planes, armor, or whatever hits my fancy. World War 2 is main interest but will stray back in time, rarely forward. Competition shooting, collecting Military rifles and reading History occupy the non-modeling time. I was a mechanic by trade, now retired and loving it. Married 42 years to a lovely long-suffering woman and have one 36 year old kid, who builds better models than me and also appears on these pages on occasion.

Hasegawa 1/32 Kawanishi Shiden-Kai. From the Empire Of Japan Group Build.

Felina! (recognize that, Breaking Bad people?) Best finale ever from the best show ever. Anyway this is my finale, less spectacular for sure, but the Shiden-Kai is done. Hasegawa makes it so easy to do a nice looking model. Only screw-ups [...]

70’s vintage Hasegawa 1/32 Ki-43 Hayabusa

Finished 15 years after her purchase is this 1/32 Hasegawa Ki-43-II Hayabusa. The old Hase kit is really showing it's age, but now that I did all this work to this one, i'm sure a new tool release is not far off. It came with an Eduard [...]

Babs, harbinger of doom

If in Spring 1942 one of these was sighted over your base, it meant hell was coming to breakfast. The C5M2 was only made in small numbers and was used for a short time, but it was part of a deadly system. The land based Kokutais Of the [...]

First airplane since 2016?

Yep turns out tis true. Last aircraft post here was the Airfix Defiant in October 2016. Wow. Anyway, here she is, Trumpeter's fairly new 1/32 P-40F. I waited a while for a P-40F and greeted the Trumpeter with mixed reviews. Surface detail [...]

I’m baaaaaack, Bronco 1/35 British A-9 Cruiser (Hello, Schultz)

First Model finished in over a year. Got plenty of excuses but you don't want to hear 'em. Been starting them and God knows still buying them, just don't get round to finishing them. Finally got the bug to complete this paragon of British [...]

I actually finished something….Csaba 39 m

The 39M is a Hungarian armored car of early WW2. The 1/35 scale kit is from Hobby Boss, I never expected to see one of these from a mainstream molder, but it fits nicely in my armored car collection. My kid got it for me on Father's Day, [...]

Midway Marauder

Saw that Greg Kittinger wants to do a Midway B-26. Here was my interpretation, done a couple of years ago. "Susie-Q" was an early bird with short wings and different tail gun position. Valom had a kit of it, it got crucified by [...]

Well 2016 is almost gone so....the 2016 output.

Wait a minute! 2016 just freakin got here! It's gone already? Sheesh. I hear that the explanation is at 10 years old, a year is only 1/10 of your life BUT at 61 a year is only a lousy 1/61th of it, therefore they Whoosh by. I do buy that [...]

"Yonder they come!" December 7 (8) 1941 Philippines

Built this little dio a couple years ago, in line with my lifelong interest in the Philippine fiasco of '41-'42. Tried to represent a mad scramble of the 34th Pursuit squadron at Del Carmen field on the Day of Infamy. The opening title is [...]

I love a theme....My Hellcat entry

Eduard's 1/48, done right after it's initial release. Prop and tires were replaced with Hasegawa items, and a true Details cockpit set used. The small decals are also Hasegawa. The finish represents a Lexington fighter flown by an ace from [...]
