I have been building plastic models for most of my life Started out as a kid, got sidetracked by girls, marriage and kids, (But I never stopped building though...) then got back into it in the early 80's...
I really got serious about HOW I build after reading a Kalmbach book titled, "How to Build Scale Models" by Roscoe Creed. It's written in plain English, and it's written to someone who really had no idea how to make, "those seams go away." From there the rest is history.
Mostly I build aircraft, but I have started to dabble with some armor and ships. we'll see how that turns out!
I've met many great folks while enjoying this hobby and hopefully will meet a few more from this website. I LOVE the low key approach, and the complete lack of whining that can be seen on other sites.
Thanks for having me aboard!
First one for 2023...
Actually, I started this kit back in 2018, 2019, I think? Sat on the shelf for a bit while I moved onto other things.

During all of 2021, I did not complete one model. Not one. Was a disappointing year as far as model building was concerned. My usual output each year, a modest four or five complete builds, with a couple started, maybe one sent to the [...]
This is the Hasegawa 1:48 scale P-400. Nice kit. Goes together very well, has really nice detail inside and out. Even the doors fit without too much tweaking. A friend of mine, Nick Buro, was a crew chief on these birds. He was asked [...]
FINALLY, calling this one as Fini!

Calling this one DONE!
One of my favorite kits to build, (I've built three...). The kit overall suffers from a wee bit of over engineering, (As in you won't see most of what's in the fuselage...). The fit and level of detail is very well [...]
Calling this one, DONE!
1:48 scale, Tamiya P-47D "Thunderbolt".
Fantastic kit, much has already been written so I won't go there. I loved build this kit and there are more to come!
For this build, I used Tamiya Acrylics, Flory [...]
Hobby Boss 1:48 Scale Focke-Wulf Fw-190D-9.
Markings are those of Oblt. Hans Dortenmann, who was the highest scoring German pilot while flying the 'Dora'. He was in command of 3/JG26 and flew this aircraft from April 1944 till the war [...]
Finally, calling this one DONE...and it is WAY late for a Midway group build on another forum, However, Ama post it anyways...
1:48 scale Hobby Boss kit of Grumman's F4F-4 'Wildcat'. I did use a couple aftermarket goodies, like Reskit [...]
My wife and I have recently moved from our home in New York to the state of Florida. With all the hoopla attached to such a move, little has been done by yours truly as far as building a models is concerned. If I recall, the last model I [...]
This past year has been a very tough year for everyone. People being furloughed, or losing their jobs due to this pandemic. A lot of us found that we had a whole lot of free time on our hands. Not that is a great thing these days, but [...]
