I have been building plastic models for most of my life Started out as a kid, got sidetracked by girls, marriage and kids, (But I never stopped building though…) then got back into it in the early 80’s…

I really got serious about HOW I build after reading a Kalmbach book titled, “How to Build Scale Models” by Roscoe Creed. It’s written in plain English, and it’s written to someone who really had no idea how to make, “those seams go away.” From there the rest is history.

Mostly I build aircraft, but I have started to dabble with some armor and ships. we’ll see how that turns out!

I’ve met many great folks while enjoying this hobby and hopefully will meet a few more from this website. I LOVE the low key approach, and the complete lack of whining that can be seen on other sites.

Thanks for having me aboard!!

1:48 Scale, Fine Molds A5M4, Type 96 Carrier Fighter, “Claude”

A beautiful little model by Fine Molds, is this A5M4 Type 96, in 1:48 scale. It has very nice detail in the cockpit and engine, and the surface detail on the exterior is excellent, especially on the wings. The model builds well, with NO fool[...]

Nichimo 1:48 Scale, Nakajima Ki-431c, “Hayabusa” (Oscar)

Another "Oldie but Goodie", Nichimo's "Oscar" is one of the best, if not THE best model of this important Japanese fighter, in any scale. But that's my opinion. Model went together beautifully, with very little needed attention to seams. It w[...]

Accurate Miniatures SB2U-3 “Vindicator”

This is Accurate Miniatures 1:48 scale Vought SB2U-3, "Vindicator". I had built this kit a few year ago, also when IT first came out. I had gotten a kit that had the original flaw in the rear fuselage, where there was a weird indentation, due [...]

Accurate Miniatures SBD-3, “Dauntless”

Hey Folks! This is a 1:48 scale, Accurate Miniatures SBD-3, "Dauntless", that I built many years back. If I recall, it was right around the time the kit was released. This was a while back so bear with me. I recall the kit going together v[...]

Happy New Year, Everybody! Starting 2017 by finishing stalled 2016 projects.

Hey Folks, I'm going to start 2017, by finishing up a couple projects that I had begun, in 2016. Last part of the year was hectic, and time at the bench was just not an option. However, as the new year starts, time is freeing up, and the op[...]

Completed for 2016..

Hello Folks, Expanding on a theme by Tom Cleaver ,Here are the kits I managed to complete over the past year. While not as many as I had hoped, it's what I had time to tackle, in between life's little curve balls thrown my way. First up, is A[...]

WILDCATS, WILDCATS and MORE WILDCATS

Here are a few of the F4F's that I've built over the years. As one might guess, Grumman's F4F is one of my favorite fighter aircraft, (Followed close by the P-40 and P-47). There is one 1:32 scale Trumpeter, two are 1:48 scale Hobby Boss kits,[...]

Finished! 1:48 Scale, Nichimo Ki-45, “Toryu”

Well, it's finally finished....except for the aerial, which I'll add tomorrow, because I'm tired and I'd just screw something up right now. I used two detail sets by Lone Star Models, one for the cockpits, and the other for the wheel wells. Th[...]
