This kit depicts a Spitfire Mk VIII of 2 Sqd Desert Airforce. Deployed as fighter/ground attack during the Battle of El Alamein.
Kit was a MkIX and was converted into a Mk VIII by modifying the rudder and changing the Vokes filter.
This model depicts a 5 Sqd SAAF aircraft in the Western Desert. They were used mainly in a ground attack role and were quite successful in disrupting the Axis supply lines in the Battle of El Alamein.
