Building, painting and finishing scale aircraft models.
I finished this in August 2021. I enjoyed the build, which is OOB with the exception of some Eduard photo-etch seat belts. This recent Airfix kit is quite complex. From a fit point of view it's not as well engineered as Tamiya, but what [...]
This is Eduard’s 2019 release of their superb 1:48th Fw 190A-8 dressed up as “Blue 4” W/Nr.350189, 12./JG5 based at Herdla, Norway in Spring of 1945. Eduard says this plane was photographed on several occasions, but darned if I could [...]
This is an out of the box build of DML’s 1/72 Ar 234 Blitz. I used the kit markings for the aircraft in the Smithsonian, and the FL Models M7226 masks and Vallejo Model Air paints. Underside is RLM 76 Lichtblau, and topside is RLM 81 [...]
I am calling this one done. 1/72 Tamiya F4D-1 Skyray. Painted with MRP paints. Its OOB with the exception of added seatbelts. Markings are from Starfighter Decals and depict a aircraft from VF-141 the "Iron Angels" aboard USS [...]
The Airfix club 109 E4 done OOB
nice kit - considering its airfix
This is the older release of KP's Avia CS-199 (1/72) that was released in 1978. Not exactly a kit that falls together and a bit more rougher than my recent KP Arado Ar-96 build. I went on to do some upgrades on fit issues, thinning down on [...]
Loved building this kit. 10/10 would build again if the kits werent rarer than hibs fans at a home game 😉
Decals liberated from an old tornado kit, paint scheme roughly that of a 90's F4 Phantom II, dog hairs courtesy of my pooch.
I assembled and painted the Tamiya Corsair in about 5 days. The painting was done mainly by hand with a brush. I used a light gray color that is not very noticeable on the panel lines to make the model look bigger than it is.
As I haven't had too much time to build any kits lately, I was loosely following the Desert Air War Group and thought I'd add a quick little build using the Hobby Boss Bf 109E-4 Trop in 1/72. I did not have the time to update the progress [...]
This kit is overall very nice but there are a lot of very fiddly bits that test the patience. In particular, the flap assembly and the exhaust assembly are a bit challenging since there are so many parts with little or not mating [...]
