Building, painting and finishing scale aircraft models.
Dear All,
Back in June I was fortunate enough to win the random award.
A big thank you to Martin, the iModeler team, and the gods of randomness, for smiling on the story of Lt. Wilmer E. Rawie and his F-4 Wildcat. I was very touched and [...]
Following on from my liking of the Westland Wessex I thought I'd go back to the original Sikorsky design and its use by the US Navy. I really like modelling Fleet Air arm aircraft, but also have a soft spot for US Navy types as well.

Here is the link to part one, in case somebody would [...]
This is the progress so far...
Changed the spinner on the propeller, the old one was too blunt, the PC 6-H12 had a longer more pointed one, scratch built the tail wheel, and painted the nose white to see how the rivets and panel lines will [...]
This is the Tamiya 1/72 scale Corsair with the wings clipped to represent a Fleet Air Arm machine. I used a Eduard etched zoom set for the cockpit.
The paints are all Xtracylix, and the decals are by Techmod. Vought Corsair II (72014).
