Weathered/damaged tyres & Wheels

Weathering tyres can be just as satisfying as modeling an entire model. Here are some that I did, which most of you have already seen. I used Citadel Mournfang Brown, and graveyard brown, and earth/brown filter/shade colors to add depth. I [...]

1/35 Academy Jeep with DSHK.

I built this model many years ago after i saw a picture of something similar in a magazine. I had an old 1/35 Academy Jeep laying around.I started by removing the pasenger seat.i then used some sheet plastic i found in the bottom of an [...]

Academy P-47 D, 1/48, 1st Brazilian Fighter Squadron

Salute, gents. This is Academy's P-47 D in 1/48, a well known kit which was superseded by the Tamiya offering. It is not a bad kit, but can use some improvements. Ultracast resin wheels, seat (with molded harness) and propeller were used. [...]

A-10A Thunderbolt II

Having fun with the ancient Tamiya A-10 kit The kit really shows its age (not Tamiya’s best) with some fit problems joining the fuselage halves and a few raised panels. But, when it’s solved, all the rest goes quite right. Until [...]

Review: Takom 1/350 Zeppelin P Class review

HK'S 1/48 B-17F-35-BO Lucious Lady

Any aircraft modeler who knows anything about WWII certainly knows about the iconic Boeing B-17. The images and film of the 8th AF bomber fleets smashing the Reich, along with countless books, movies, documentaries, TV and personal [...]

Dancing with the Wolf: F-14A and the Vf-1 Wolfpack, USS Ranger 1982

This F-14 model is the third part in a small series of five Tomcats that I am building in 1/144, 1/72 and 1/48 scale. The history of Grumman's spectacular carrier fighter is rich enough in variations and stories that there is room for five [...]

Donkeys, Rats and Flies, oh my! 1/48 Polikarpov I-16

The Polikarpov I-16 is considered by many to be the first truly modern fighter - a low wing monoplane with an enclosed cockpit and retractable landing gear. Early models saw combat in the Spanish Civil War, where they were referred to as [...]

First WW1 era model, MENG Whippet.

Have never done anything from this era. Solid kit, track was a complete PIA. But the outcome was worth it. First MENG kit, no fit issues at all. I’ll try another in the near future. Happy New Year modelers! ?
