ALMOST as good as the 32nd scale Tamiya Corsair…… The 72nd scale Tamiya Corsair

Following on James Kelley's excellent article on the 32nd scale Tamiya Birdscage, and because i am totally bereft of originality, i thought i'd post an article on my latest labour of love. This is my latest 72nd scale Corsair, Number 3, [...]

Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1 “Birdcage” Corsair

It's finished, at last. 🙂 I started this project in August 2013. I finished it up yesterday. There's really nothing I can say that hasn't already been said...it's the best kit I've ever built. It's built out of the box, with the [...]

Video: Tamiya's 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero

The eagle-eyed among you will/may have noticed the starboard aileron actuator is missing - that's because I knocked it off just as I was posing the kit for its photo session!

FJ-3M Fury of VF-124

This is the ESCI 1/48 kit dated 1983, of the FJ-2/3 Fury. Up to the point of the release of the Collect-Aire Models, kit in 1997 this was the only game in town for a Fury in 1/48. Still today I know of no other kit in 1/48 of this airplane [...]

1/48 Grumman F7F-3(N) Tigercat, USMC, Korean War

This is AMT/Ertl's original boxing of the Tigercat, the tools now owned by Italeri and since reboxed under their brand with minor improvements. The AMT kit is notorious for the awful tires used which would literally melt the wheels after [...]

General Aviation PJ-1 "FLYING LIFEBOAT" 1932

Airfix 1/72 A6M2 Model 21 Zero

A nice kit. Horrible wheels...get yourself some resin ones if you build this. I used Eduard canopy mask..and will never NOT be able to use them in this scale again...I likely would still be masking the canopy without them!

P-47 W.I.P.

i hate W.I.P. personally...half the time you don't see the finish...got that old tamiya kit down and polished it up a bit...with a little silver plating...simon wh and tom cl made me do it {dirty filthy devils }...the people that have lead [...]

ROG 1/32 He 162 WIP aircraft

This is the ROG 1/32 He 162, since this shot tonight the whole thing has been buttoned up Seams and paint are next. Trying to decide if I want to paint the tail and wing separate or glue them on first? Might do a slightly different shade [...]

Flashback 1/48 Miles Magister I

The Airplane: What became known as the Miles Magister was first flown on March 20, 1937, as the Miles Hawk Trainer III, designed and built in response to the Air Ministry Specification 40/36, which was developed on the basis of experience [...]
