Well, at long last I've been able to do a small amount of modelling.
This is the turret from my Meng Leopard C2 Mexas. It's got the thermal clad turret, which is a replacement one. I can't remember which manufacturer, but I do know it isn't the Meng one!
I used Tamiya Buff for the cladding. When thoroughly dry (a couple of days). I then used artist oils raw umber (IIRC) without thinning down. I rubbed it into the low lying areas. I left it about 1 hour, then wiped it off very thoroughly, just leaving it in the recessed areas of the mould. Then it was out with some kitchen paper and tried to remove as much of the remaining oil paint from the main areas as possible.
I was trying to get some of the original colour to come back. Again, left it a couple of days to allow the oil paint to dry thoroughly. I'm now slowly highlighting the raised detail by dry brushing the original buff colour to bring the detail out. I hope you like!
Looks amazing so far, Ian, up to your usual excellent standards!
Thanks Spiros
Progressing nicely, Ian @ianfoulk96
